There are lots of possibilities. Traditionally, there are classes, workshops, even university degrees that can help. Books are an old standby too. Newer resources such as blogs, Wikipedia, or online versions of old media sources can also be a great place to find current information.
Of course the online world has its own unique offerings as well. Online courses, YouTube videos, tutorials, learning communities, or even social networks can all be sources of information or skills that have real value.
Have you given any thought to how and where you go to learn? Do you just randomly stumble across interesting things? Or do you have a select few resources that you keep up with while letting others slide by? There’s no right or wrong answer. It works best when it’s customized just for you. But occasionally it’s worth an audit to see if anything is getting too much attention while other things aren’t getting enough. Taking control of your learning is taking control of your career and your life.
